At Key Stage 5, pupils have a range of options available to them; A Levels, Baccalaureates (both English and International), BTECs and Scottish Higher National Certificates/Diplomas are just some of the qualifications open to the 17-18 age-group.
School trips can become even more tailored to suit interests at this level as student groups become smaller and more specialised. For example, one of the ultimate visits for sixth form scientists would be to the Cern Centre (Conseil Européen pour la Recherche Nucléaire) near Geneva, where scientists are daily investigating the fundamental structure of the universe.
Suitable Venues
We opened our South Pennines centre in 1994, converting a Victorian primary school to accommodate groups of up to 25 children. Since that first season we have twice increased the accommodation at the activity centre, so that we can now accommodate groups of up to 78 children together with their accompanying teachers.
Group climbing sessions are for young people, adults, families, school and youth groups. They are an ideal way to introduce people to the sport of climbing.
Sessions can be tailored around the groups individual needs and block bookings are also welcome if your group wishes to learn how to climb.
Wide range of Outdoor Adventurous Activities. We cater for all ages, from Early Years / KS1 to adults. We offer both half-day/day visits and residential stays with a wide range of accommodation suitable for all (140 beds).
The Anderton Centre is situated on the shores of the beautiful Rivington Reservoir in the West Pennine Moors in Lancashire, close to Chorley, Bolton, Manchester and Preston. Addventure Awards Ltd was formed in 2008, with the objective of offering mountain expertise to a wider audience, to include young people. The company utilises a long association with its qualified instructors in its existing adult market to offer additional services for young people.
