Mudchute Park and Farm

Mudchute Park and Farm

Mudchute Park and Farm isone of the largest inner City Farms anywhere in Europe. 32 acres of countryside in the middle of the Isle of Dogs to share with friendly furry and feathered creatures. There is also an outdoor play area in Milwall Park which is adjacent.

They have a collection of British rare breeds and over 200 animals and fowl on their farm!

There is also an outdoor play area in Milwall Park which is adjacent to Mudchute Park.

They host a variety of seasonal events throughout the year that include their Easter Parade, Summer Open Day, Christmas Fair and Spooky Halloween.

It's worth noting that there are no car parking spaces on site, but that they are easy to get to by public transport.

The farm is open every day, free of charge.

Education Services

The Mudchute education project provides a unique resource for schools and local children. The project works with local schools by providing structured activities and courses in environmental education, science and farming topics. These are linked to the needs of the National Curriculum and focus on a wide range of subjects, including biology of plants and animals, geography, environmental issues, art, english and maths. The project also offers a well-resourced 'living classroom'.

You can find out more about what's on offer with the downloadable Mudchute Education Project presentation. Teachers may can also download a risk assessment here.
