FSC Dale Fort Field Centre

Dale is the sunniest place in Wales and averages in excess of 1,800 hours of sun shine a year. It is a perfect location for a field trip. It is surprisingly accessible and once here you'll appreciate its fantastic setting.

Dale's location uniquely provides it with on-site access to a wide variety of superb seashores, minimising transport costs. There can be few better places to study marine biology and ecology anywhere.

Pembrokeshire also makes a great place to study geography. The scenery speaks for itself, but the small market towns and industries provide excellent opportunities for urban geographers to investigate topics like re-branding.

Dale provides an ideal base for exploring the spectacular scenery of The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and the centre is close to the famous bird-islands of Skomer, Skokholm and Grassholm.

Dale Fort was built in 1856 in an attempt to deter the forces of Napoleon III from invading the west coast of Britain. It is a spectacular location near the entrance to Milford Haven.
