This parkland on the banks of the River Wye right in the centre of Hereford is great for quiet recreation whatever the time of year and with such a short walk from the retail district can be a welcome reprieve for kids sick of shopping!
It has Tennis Courts available from April until the end of summer with equipment hire and also a putting green, plus it borders the wide open King George V Playing Fields and the nearby Leisure Pool.
You can walk over the Victoria footbridge to access the historic Castle Green and Castle Pool, all of which are managed separately.
There are also a rounders pitch marked out so bring your bats and balls along, and if you're looking carefully you can try to spot all of the mappa mundi tree carvings around the park! A fun task with kids, why not draw them as you go round?
